Nutritional Needs

Meals can be custom tailored to fit personal needs or requirements in terms of gluten, vegan, fish, chicken, sourdough bread, and allergies.

On behalf of our wonderful chefs, we request that you make your food arrangements as soon as possible, using this easy form on our website.

Medical info accuracy

Participants must disclose relevant health conditions, medications, allergies, and physical limitations that could affect their participation.

Physical Activities

There will be no air conditioning. Yoga, dance and climbing stairs and large rocks are physical activities. Retreat activities may include movement, hiking/river time, and uneven terrain in a tropical environment.

There exist other inherent risks in the retreat, such as slips/falls, insect bites, sun/heat, etc.).

Participants must take reasonable precautions and take full responsibility for their own health and well-being during the retreat.

Participants must not hold the Flow of a River Retreat nor any of the staff responsible for injuries or other medical problems that might occur.

Personal responsibility

Participants must take full responsibility for their own wellbeing, including pacing themselves, taking breaks, hydrating, eating, and asking for support when needed

Not a substitute for therapy/medical care

The retreat is educational and experiential. It is not psychotherapy, medical treatment, nor a substitute for professional mental health or medical care.

Emotional stability

Participants must not currently be in an acute mental health crisis (e.g., active suicidality, recent hospitalization for mental health, unmanaged psychosis/mania), and be resourced enough to participate in a group-based transformational experience.

Consent, boundaries

Participation in the retreat is voluntary. They can opt out of any activity at any time. They must respect their own boundaries as well as the boundaries of others.

Conduct / safety

Participants must promote a respectful, non-harassing environment -- no violence, threats, discrimination, or unwanted sexual/romantic advances.

Substances

Participants will refrain from use of cigarettes, alcohol, and illegal drugs for the duration of the retreat.

Right to refuse / remove for safety

For the wellbeing of the group, Participants will afford the organizers the right to refuse participation or remove a participant if their behavior creates a safety risk to themselves or others, or significantly disrupts the container.
