Ana Clara Carranza Maxera
Theatre, Storytelling, Temazcal (Sweat Lodge)
Living in Los Almendros, Costa Rica, Ana Clara is a mother, actor, storyteller, Temazcal facilitator and moon dancer.
Throughout her life, Ana Clara has been driven by the art of acting to constantly explore the state of presence, leading her to study and practice aromatherapy, craniosacral alignment, somatic education, somarhythms, and sound therapy.
She is always at the service of the community and constantly learning from the natural environment and sustainability.
Experienced in both film and radio, she has performed in three feature films, more than twenty short films (some of which have won awards at the Costa Rican exhibition), more than fifty theatrical productions, and has participated in international festivals and exhibitions in Colombia, Argentina, Mexico, Central America, the United States, Venezuela, and Spain, among others.
She is a storyteller and has been teaching theater workshops for children since the beginning of her career.
Fifteen years ago, Ana Clara began a journey of learning with the indigenous peoples of America, the red path, in Kalpulli Teo Chantli, where she performed 13 moon dances, sought visions, and became trained to facilitate Temazcales.
Since 2000, she has been studying Somaritmos, after having met its creator, Ninoska Gómez, a dancer and Doctor of Movement Sciences and founder of the "Los Almendros" Studio (an artistic residency founded 33 years ago).
Since 2023, Ana Clara has been living at Los Almendros, Costa Rica, continuing Gómez’ legacy of artistic residencies and contributing to and growing the studio for the development and research of the performing arts, a growth phase called "Creative Dawn," where the Delamar Theater is located.
