Machu Campo

Sleeping In a Jungle With a River

Nestled in the jungle on the banks of the majestic Machuca River, Machu Campo is more than about lodging.

It is a rustic experience of being gently and beautifully re-woven into the living fabric of nature.

It is a riverside enclave of winding forest trails, elegant glamping tents, an open-air cold shower, an open-air hot bath, a hot tub, composting toilets, and simple, thoughtfully designed facilities.

Three times each day, during service hours, you will be served in the Dining Area a healthy meal, from which you will be able to choose from omnivorous and vegan options, all including locally grown fruits and vegetables.

Throughout each day you will find self-serve tea, filtered water, and daily specialty beverages.

It is everything you need, nothing distracting from presence, all balancing simple comfort and deep intimacy with the natural world.

It is about flowing into discovery of magic and profound shift.

Relaxing your body.

Softening your mind.

Deepening your sleep.

Finding your comfort, real, tangible, intentional.

Inviting orthopedic beds with cotton sheets.

Calm and balanced spaces.

Honoring the physical needs of your body,
subtle needs of your nervous system.

Flowing paths, harmonious plants and natural textures merging in safety, grounding, and quiet beauty.

The Machuca River flows cool and fresh just steps away from our tents, a soothing soundtrack of moving water, sensual breeze, sweet birdsongs, and vibrant rhythms of the jungle.

During the Flow of a River Retreat, Machu Campo becomes your riverside sanctuary — a place to rest, to soften, to be held by the forest and the water, to return renewed each day to the circle.

Created with a life-long devotion to wilderness living and a clear intention, Machu Campo invites us into deep intimacy with nature in a way that feels safe, elegant, and restorative.

Providing the essential needs for shelter, protection, beauty, and calm without severing your connection to the living world.

Over the years, Machu Campo has hosted permaculture immersions, women’s circles, sound healing retreats, music gatherings, rites of passage, medicine work, and sacred celebrations by the river. It is a place that holds space beautifully for ritual, song, movement, laughter, silence, and transformation.

Here, the jungle does not overwhelm — it embraces.

Here, nature is not something you visit — it is something you live inside of.
